We are seeking an experienced manager to lead the Pupil Entitlement Investigations Team working to ensure children access their education entitlement.

The Executive Directorate of Care, Adults, Families, Health and Education within the County Council are focused on giving children the best start in life. The Education and Skills Service place children at the heart of everything we do. We work in partnership with schools, settings and other services and organisations to secure high quality education for every child in West Sussex. We work together to keep all children in West Sussex safe and secure. We celebrate diversity and ensure that we are inclusive and supportive to all children. The role of the Pupil Entitlement Investigation Manager is to provide high quality advice and guidance to professionals, schools and other education settings regarding School Attendance, Fixed Penalty Notices and Non Attendance Prosecutions and provide a county wide service to address issues of poor attendance. In addition, the role will manage the Elective Home Education Service and support the function of Safeguarding in Education.

The post is located within the Pupil Entitlement Team in Education and Skills but will require significant liaison with all areas of the Education and Skills Directorate, Children’s Operations including Children's Social Care and the Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help Service and the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board (LSCB) and its partners.
