Purbrook Park School in Waterlooville are currently seeking an ICT Network Manager to ensure the ICT system availability at all times. You will carry out system maintenance, repair and upgrades meet the changing needs of the school, ensuring the minimum disruption to the teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:

1. Network
• To undertake the initiation of system/software upgrades
• Ensure daily backups are carried out and are successful
• Monitoring of all ICT systems
• Make recommendations to Business Manager (BM) regarding all aspects of the ICT infrastructure and associated systems
• System diagrams and associated paperwork are kept up to date
• All equipment and software meet licensing compliance
• Prepare reports for BM as required
• Work with MLE administrator in the availability and delivery of MLE
• Pre-empt any system faults or failures within scope of task
• Source suppliers of equipment as directed by BM ensuring compliance with FMSIS and best value statements


2. Maintenance and Repairs
• Carry out repairs as required to server hardware and software
• Ensure staff request for repairs maintenance are completed
• Checking switches and maintaining network diagrams including IP addressing



3. Security
• To monitor web filtering and report instances of concern to the BM
• Manage and monitor CCTV systems and ensure security log is completed
• Act as key holder for emergencies, and attend school in response to callouts and emergencies.


4. Other Duties
• Management and job tasking of IT technician(s)
• Complete management performance for staff (IPP)
• Keep informed as to future technologies relevant to job
• Attend after hours events as required by the school to provide IT support
• To carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Business Manager


5. Health and Safety
Maintain an awareness of the school Health and Safety Policies and procedures and apply them in the day to day job requirements

The School operates on a Windows 2003 server platform, previous knowledge of Microsoft front/back end is essential, as is Exchange server and networking skills. Previous experience of a MLE/VLE environment would be advantageous as would MCSE/MCSA qualification.
