As a key member of the management team the Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Museum's annual marketing plan. This includes an effective marketing communications strategy (both internal and external) which accords with and is in line with the Museum's key aims, objectives and vision. 

The successful candidate for this role must have strong marketing, PR and creative skills, demonstrable energy and be prepared to work 'hands-on' in a fast-moving, diverse and rewarding environment.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong copywriting and sharp editing skills.
• Proven communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of social networking with evidence of daily interaction with commercial Facebook page or blog.
• Proven skills and knowledge in website creation and management.
• Knowledge of design and print management.
• A good design-eye with the ability to create in-house poster and flyers for the public using desktop publisher knowledge and skills.
• Self-motivated, confident to make decisions and take the initiative.
• Able to think creatively, strategically and operationally.
• Able to motivate and influence others.
• Able to prioritise.
• Ability to work with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable in a challenging and fast moving environment, both indoor and outdoor.
• Keen and active interest in museums, rural heritage and social history is desirable.
• Proven team player and ability to work without the need for close supervision.
