You will work as part of a team based within the Wrenford centre, a vibrant day service for adults with learning disabilities. Our key aims are to support people with high levels of dependency or complex needs and enable every customer to be engaged in their local community, to the best of their ability.

The purpose of this role is to encourage and stimulate customers through the provision of outcome based care that promotes independence. Community engagement enables customers to develop and/or maintain daily living skills and to support their comfort and well-being, social and physical needs.

Your role will include, supporting and supervising new Grade 3 support staff and those completing their social care apprenticeships. You will be a positive role- model, demonstrating excellent practice within the team. You will be required to implement activities and sessions to achieve agreed outcomes; these include drama and physiotherapy. Good communication skills and interpersonal skills are required in order to provide clear and concise advice and guidance to a range of customers.

As many activities are community based, for e.g. swimming and hydro, the ability to drive people carriers and minibuses is desirable.
