The West Sussex Adults Safeguarding Adults’ Board will be the statutory body, from April 2015, responsible for ensuring that adults at risk are protected and safeguarded within the County. As part of its on-going development and multi-agency partnership work; and in preparation for implementation of the Care Act 2015, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Board within this newly created post of Board Manager.

As Board Manager, you will work closely alongside the Board’s Independent Chair supporting their role in providing leadership and direction to the Board, its partners and its work to enable delivery of its priorities.

You will be required to:
- work on your own initiative
- be efficient in prioritising work against competing demands
- be highly motivated
- be passionate about safeguarding adults in West Sussex
- demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of people, whilst supporting equality and diversity is essential
- travel throughout the county and be flexible in your approach

In return you will become part of a newly created multi-agency funded team; working specifically for the West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board across a multitude of agencies. You will receive supervision and support to enable you to meet the many demands and challenges of this role and will enjoy opportunities for training and development in a working environment that promotes team work and trust in a culture of high expectation and achievement.

This is an exciting new post requiring good organisational skills and experience of working in a multi-agency context as well as a solid knowledge of adult protection and safeguarding. The post-holder will also work closely with the Principal Manager, Adults Safeguarding WSCC to ensure the Board’s work programme is moving forward and that all the partners are engaged. You will manage the other posts in the newly created team - Practice and Development Manager, Quality and Assurance Manager, and Board Administrator and take a lead on any Adult Case Reviews in West Sussex.

A relevant professional qualification is essential; as is recent experience as a manager, and of working within the safeguarding adults arena.

3 year fixed term
Based in Chichester
30 hours per week - flexible working across West Sussex
