Internal Audit supports and provides assurance on all County Council services in order to help make the best use of available resources and deliver County Strategy objectives and effective services.

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and highly motivated people to join our successful Internal Audit team, which provides a variety of services to West Sussex County Council and to external clients.

You will carry out audit reviews of establishment records, compliance reviews on key financial systems and current financial practice to ensure that County Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations are being followed. All audit work is undertaken to a high standard.

You will need to have a challenging mind and the ability to proactively contribute in a team environment. You will also possess good interpersonal skills including clear report writing. You will be able to deliver concise messages to clients and to work with minimum supervision.

The role also requires good team working skills and an enthusiastic and proactive approach in helping contribute to the continuous improvement of our service delivery. An understanding of modern audit skills and techniques would be an advantage and you will need a professional and conscientious approach to work.

Consideration will be given to both those with previous internal audit experience and those looking to embark on a new career. Support to professional training will be considered.
