An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified person to work in our busy Internal Audit Section on a part time basis as maternity cover for a period up to 1 year. The section is a small highly motivated unit which provides advice on financial control to all sections of the Council, often operating at a high level.

Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience in an audit environment and hold either the AAT or IIA qualification, or alternatively experience in a financial environment and an understanding of how financial control systems operate.

However, an ability to work well in a team with the minimum of supervision to assess and find solutions to problems in an objective way, and to be able to communicate well and both orally and in writing will be of equal importance.

Training may be offered depending on the candidate's experience.

As well as a Flexitime system, flexible working arrangements will be considered.
