An opportunity has arisen for a part qualified Tax Accountant working within our Corporate Finance department, reporting into the Associate Director of Tax. This role would be responsible for ensuring that certain businesses throughout EMEA, including emphasis for UK businesses are compliant with all tax rules and meeting their reporting requirements. The successful candidate will be required to provide tax advice, support and assist with ensuring that the requirements for income tax, indirect taxes and tax accounting are met in a timely manner.

This position will work alongside external advisors to ensure that tax returns are completed annually/ quarterly and monthly to an agreed timetable and filed in line with statutory deadlines. The successful candidate will support the Associate Director of Tax in dealing with tax audits, investigations, assisting in concluding any open issues, as well as actively and regularly reviewing the workflow with the tax department to ensure the department is working efficiently. They will also critically asses the business’ systems and their operation to ensure they comply with tax requirements, best practice and where necessary raise with IT changes and improvements that can be made.

Selection criteria

  • Have experience in practice or industry in taxation, (direct and indirect) and have experience with these taxes covering multiple jurisdictions with EMEA. Prior experience in working for a public accounting firm would be advantageous.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with global teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as approachability
  • You will be able to use technology to communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to multi task, prioritise and manage own time with minimal guidance is essential
  • Ability to speak German and or French would be advantageous
  • Self- starter with ability to think innovatively
  • Should be full or  part qualified to ACCA, ACA, CTA level
