A opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and organised person to join the busy Exchequer team within Accountancy Services on a temporary contract, fixed to the 30 June 2015.

You will be part of the Exchequer team and primarily responsible for processing invoices from council suppliers for payment, and raising customer accounts for the goods and services it supplies.  Good customer skills are required to fulfill this role as you will deal with both internal and external clients of the Council, answering queries and taking telephone payments from customers.

The successful candidate must possess knowledge of a computerized mainframe and sales and purchase ledger system. This post requires great attention to detail and accuracy, together with good communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be able to work methodically, be reliable and accurate in their work, with the ability to prioritise in order to meet regular deadlines. This role supports the Exchequer Manager in providing an efficient service to the council and its customers, both internal and external. This is a challenging role, but for the right candidate will be extremely rewarding.
