The Public Health Department is a progressive multi-disciplinary department committed to improving health and tackling inequalities in West Sussex and we are looking for highly motivated people to join our team.

West Sussex has a high proportion of older people and while many are active members of their communities, the number of people aged 85 or more is projected to increase and this will bring challenges. Independence in Later Life is one of WSCC’s three priorities. The post holder will support the Later Life programme with a focus on integration of services, improving financial security, ensuring people have appropriate housing and support, and increasing participation in society.

The successful applicant will be experienced Public Health practitioner who will bring energy, technical expertise and creativity to the challenges of improving outcomes for residents and visitors to West Sussex. They will have a track record of successful delivery of public health programmes, excellent communication and IT skills and be able to organise and prioritise their workload. They will already have am MSc in Public Health or related topic (or equivalent), and if they are not already registered Public Health Practitioners they will be supported to work towards registration. The post holder will be part of the Departmental management team.
