The Legal Services Unit aims to give the best possible legal and insurance service to the Council. The career progression scheme concerns Solicitors from first qualification up to five years post qualification. Solicitors will be expected to complete any formal post qualification training and examination required by the Law Society. Progression through the grade will be achieved by successful performance of specific and general work areas set out in the Development Programme.

As a solicitor or barrister ideally with post qualification practice in public law child care litigation, we are looking for you to join our team of 13 lawyers and 5 clerks to provide legal advice and case work to our busy Children's Services Directorate with particular expertise in Child Care law and related subjects.

With advocacy skills at Magistrates and County Court levels, we are looking for you to have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
