This role supports the International Short Programme Unit with the provision of short programmes during the Summer of 2015, these posts are fixed-term for various periods from June to September 2015.

Required for in-service programmes for overseas Secondary and Primary teachers of English.   You should offer Secondary or Primary ELT Methodology, Professional Language Development for the Classroom and Cultural Studies.   With proven experience in both ELT Teacher Training and either Secondary or Primary Education, you should hold a Cambridge/Trinity Diploma TEFLA or equivalent and MA/MEd. ELT (or related field).   Experience of CLIL and teaching in bilingual contexts/or working in Spain, Korea, China, Thailand or Vietnam would also be helpful.

The post holder will support the Director of International Short Programme Unit with the provision of short Programmes specifically designed for In Service/Professional students, e.g. Spanish Primary School Teachers, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai and Japanese Teachers. These courses will take place during the Spring and Summer; the following is an indication of the hours required for the role.

a)      Teaching Hours:

Up to 18 hours' teaching contact time per week.   The hours for individual programme commitments will be negotiated by the Director of the International Short Programme Unit.

b)     Hours credited for accompanying field trips:

Should you be asked to accompany a field trip/school visit, notional hours will be credited on the following basis:

Half day             1.5 hours
Whole day         3 hours
