We are seeking to recruit an Associate Learning Technologist to the Learning and Skills Development Team in the Department of Learning and Skills. We require a highly motivated and focused post holder who can assist and contribute to the delivery of technology enhanced learning across the University.  It is envisaged that this will be a developmental role for the successful candidate, who will have the potential to develop their career within the Learning Technologies and Skills Development team.  The post holder will be supported with relevant technical training and development. The post holder will work closely with the Manager of Learning Technologies and Skills Development to plan, develop and implement the new technologies and skills required for enhanced learning. As a member of the team, you will support the development of innovative approaches to the delivery of technology enhanced learning and will take a proactive approach to enabling digital literacy, and the effective use of technology for learning, in line with the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy. In this role you will assist in the evaluation of technologies, and methods, and you will support the development and user skills for the learning technologies, including for example; the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), the Turn-it-in (TII) on-line plagiarism and assignment formatting support tool, and the ChiPlayer lecture capture system.  You will need to demonstrate expertise in the theory and practice of online and distance learning pedagogy, the principles of the needs involved in, and of the enabling of digital literacy  as well as demonstrating how to train users in developing and exploiting multimedia e-learning resources. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work with an ability to demonstrate and promote a positive approach to change.
