We have a vacancy for the post of Housing Options Officer within the Customer Services Directorate.
The Housing Options team is a busy front-line service working to prevent homelessness by delivering timely housing advice to clients, liaising and negotiating with landlords and other agencies.
This post is one of a team of four Housing Options Officers who respond to and investigate new homelessness applications and requests for housing advice. The housing Options officer will hold a caseload of clients who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, and will reach homelessness decision, applying relevant legislation, codes of guidance and case law. They will prevent homelessness by negotiating with Landlords, agents and family members as well as assisting clients into the private rented sector.
The applicant should have knowledge of relevant housing law and government codes of guidance and experience of working in housing options, with an understanding of welfare benefits and skills in negotiation and problem-solving skills.

The post is based at the Civic Centre, Littlehampton but may require some working at the Bognor Town Hall or other locations in the District.
