At Alzheimer’s Society, we put the needs of people living with dementia at the heart of what we do. How? By designing our services around the individual, promoting greater personal choice, providing expert advice, creating more supportive environments and generally helping people with dementia live the lives they want. Our innovative Sussex Dementia Care and Support Service, which is registered with CQC, is an important part of this mix. Home support involves trained members of staff giving support to people living with dementia in their own homes. As the Home Support Deputy Manager you will support the Home Support Manager in the management and administration of the Sussex Dementia Care and Support Service including the dedicated staff and volunteers who support people with dementia in their own homes. You will be helping to recruit, manage, develop and support the workers and volunteers within this service. You will need to be able to support them in their demanding roles, whilst ensuring we offer the highest standards of service. You will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent. This must be supported by experience in a care environment and a thorough understanding of the particular needs of people with dementia and their carers. Proven ability to manage and develop teams is, of course, essential – and you will certainly have a solid grasp of relevant of relevant legislation. Excellent communication, budgeting and time management skills are also vital.
