Returning to Social Work

If you are thinking about returning to social work after a break, we would welcome an application from you.

You will need to have current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.

There’s a real momentum at West Sussex County Council. We’re focused on creating more positive outcomes for children and their families and we have the optimism and enthusiasm to achieve it.

We’ve already redesigned our service, transforming both our systems and the way we work. We’ve been inspired as one of only ten authorities involved in the Signs of Safety England Innovations Project.

Join us and you’ll be empowered. With experienced people around you and a leadership team backing you up, you’ll be in an environment in which you can focus on real social work and the child’s journey. We’re talking manageable caseloads and good access to administrative support and reflective supervision. Add excellent training including five guaranteed days of CPD per year, and it’s a winning formula.
What are we looking for?

We are looking for Social Workers who have previous experience of working within frontline Children’s Social Work Teams and who want to return following a career break. We will offer you a support package including training and reflective sessions, shadowing opportunities and interview preparation.

You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
