About the Role
We are looking for a friendly and hard working caretaker to help look after our school of 210 pupils.
The main duties of this role are to: - Open up the school every morning of term time, helping keep access clear in periods of winter weather - Carry out some handyman and maintenance work; including changing lighting tubes, decorating, and carpentry - Inspect the building regularly to ensure urgent and non-urgent maintenance jobs are identified - Monitor security and fire systems and maintain records of inspections - Direct workmen and contractors to where they need to carry out work, and monitor their performance - Keep the outside of the school looking clean and tidy by cleaning gullies and collecting litter - Help move furniture and equipment as required - Order caretaking supplies
We want you to work 4 hours a day during term time in a single morning shift; starting by opening up the school. We can be more flexible with the working hours during the school holidays.
Applicants do not need to be Catholic but do need to be able to work within the Catholic ethos of the school.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
