The successful applicant will be employed as Senior Investigating Officer within Safeguarding in Education based at Centenary House, Worthing. The successful applicant will be undertaking tasks associated with managing a small team of staff within the Safeguarding in Education team reporting to a Senior Manager. The role requires excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as a Senior Investigating Officer. The primary role is to provide line management and safeguarding advice and guidance to a small team within two areas of business; Children Missing Education (CME) and also Children in Employment and Entertainment to ensure that the Local Authority’s statutory functions are delivered in each area. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience of safeguarding partnership working and be expected to engage with schools, agencies and other professionals to ensure they discharge their safeguarding responsibilities.

The role will include practical advice and delivery of training as required. We are looking for a confident individual with proven management experience, especially leading a team through change. This is a new position and will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute towards the development of the role and their team. Whilst based in Worthing, the successful candidate will be expected to travel independently across the County and supervise staff based in different sites.
