Interview date: 10th August 2017

This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly Criminal Records Bureau check)

Are you looking for a challenge? Are you good with people? This is a new, innovative, national pilot for three years that is being started in partnership with ‘Pause’. We are looking for a full-time Practice Co-ordinator to support the team.

This can be a secondment for up to three years, a placement or a time limited contract. Other arrangements can be discussed, but the role is full-time and based on the south coast.

This is a dedicated project that works with women who have experienced repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. They do not currently have children in their care. The Better Change programme in West Sussex will deliver a dedicated ‘Pause’ project for three years, as well as supporting improvements in practice and integrated working across services and agencies. Pause is a charity seeking to prevent the damaging consequences of thousands more children being taken into care each year.

The Co-ordinator is key to the successful functioning of Better Change and the Pause Team. There are some significant differences between the Coordinator role and more typical business support functions.

Coordinators manage a wide and varied range of tasks, from the design and implementation of finance, data and performance monitoring systems, to event organising and high level strategic management support.

They are also the main point of contact for professionals, the women themselves and others in their ‘system’. This means they need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, as well as having a depth of understanding around the needs of the women and their presenting issues.

The importance of this role cannot be underestimated and it is not unusual for Coordinators to have experience of direct work and significant experience of working in the public and voluntary sectors.

This can be a seconded for three years or a time limited contract.
Interviews will take place on the 10th August in Chichester.
