Are you an ambitious, creative and influential practitioner who is passionate about reducing the number of children being removed into care by supporting women to bring about change in their lives? Do you have direct experience of working with and affecting change in vulnerable adults?

This a new, innovative, national pilot that is being started in partnership with ‘Pause’. Pause is a charity seeking to prevent the damaging consequences of thousands more children being taken into care each year. This is a dedicated project that works with women who have experienced repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause from pregnancy and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma, as well as reducing huge costs to society and the taxpayer. They do not currently have children in their care.

The Better Change programme in West Sussex will deliver a dedicated ‘Pause’ project for three years. A Team of three Practitioners, a Team Leader and a Team co-ordinator will bring their own wealth of direct practice experience of complex work to maximise the teams impact.

At the beginning of the post, you will attend a residential training week with other Practitioners either in August, September or October.

This is a professional placement opportunity for 18 months with a view to extending if desired for a further 18 months.

The role profile attached is a NJC G8 (Appx £24,174 – £26,822). However for a professional placement with higher professional qualifications and experience, a higher salary may be available up to appx £30,153 as part of the placement arrangements – please discuss this with us. We will also consider a fixed term contract or secondment.
