Based at Schools Library Service: Worthing Library, Richmond Road, Worthing BN11 1HD
37 hours per week, term-time only, including inset days.

We are looking for a competent driver to drive our Mobile Library (7.5 tonnes gross weight) and our delivery van (5.0 tonnes) to a number of primary schools within West Sussex during term time.

You will assist with the exchange of books; restock the mobile and carry out other library assistant duties in the Schools Library Service Centre associated with the loan of books. This is an active role and lifting is required.

You should have excellent interpersonal, organisational and customer service skills as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

You will need to have good driving skills, be a competent driver aged over 21 (this is a DVLA requirement) and to have held a driving licence for at least 2 years. You must possess a full clean driving licence with a C1 category. A Driver’s Certificate of Professional Competence is required for the post, the postholder must be willing to undertake CPC training, within 6 months of employment, if it is not a qualification currently held. Experience of driving large vehicles would be an advantage.

Appointment will be subject to a medical and driving assessment.
