The 2 posts offer exciting and interesting opportunities for successful, committed and motivated mental health workers for children and young people within school and community settings.

This new multi-disciplinary service also includes Educational Psychologists, Family Practitioners and Specialist Teachers/Practitioners.   Our team provides excellent peer support and promotes professional development through practice sharing sessions.   Come and join us if you would like to engage in creative and flexible evidence-informed approaches to connect with children, families and other professionals in a meaningful way to effect positive change in their lives. 

Our Primary Mental Health Workers are mainly based within schools promoting a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing service with close links to Community Wellbeing Service and Specialist CAMHS.  To improve outcomes, we  provide assessments and short term individual and group interventions as part of our preventative work in addressing the emotional well-being and mental health needs of children and young people.  In addition, we also work with staff and parents to help develop their capacity to respond to emotional, health and wellbeing needs of children and young people. 

Relevant experience is essential in the field of mental health including capacity and confidence working with whole school settings to develop their mental health and wellbeing ethos. 

A relevant mental health professional qualification is essential and also experience of working within school settings is preferable.
