Every project needs to be managed to ensure its success. A project manager will know what needs to be achieved, how it will be achieved, how long it will take and how much it will cost, and works with the project team to achieve the required outcomes. They need good planning, organisation, leadership, management and communication skills. This role will offer the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills including learning to effectively manage a project within a council environment following industry recognised principles. The BPI and Corporate Programme Management team has strong links with every department in the council and the Apprentice Project Support Officer will be crucial to the successful delivery of the projects and programmes that are driving the organisation through a period of significant change. The wide variety of skills required for the role, and the experience gained by the successful candidate will offer fantastic opportunity for career progression. Your training will be delivered by Chichester College to achieve a Level 4 Associate Project Management diploma. Apprentices will be eligible for associate membership of the Association for Project Management (APM) upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. You will be based in a modern office in Hove Town Hall.
