Junior Accountant - Initial 12-month maternity contract - Flexible working options

A rapidly scaling international Food and Drinks brand based in High-Wycombe requires a proactive and career focused Junior Accountant to join them in their next stage of growth. This is initially intended as a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave within the team. However due to the growth of the company it is highly likely that it will become a permanent role, with study support available.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this individual will join an organisation that has an impressive and recent period of growth. Having had a significant market impact, the company are approaching a new and exciting phase of expansion, which will also see significant investments being made in their team.

Candidate requirements:

• Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with 1-2 years experience
• OR a recent Accounting/Finance related graduate
• Strong Excel skills - pivots, lookups etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Able to use own initiative and to take responsibility for decisions
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Proactive and motivated to embark on a succesful accounting career

The Role

• Assist the FC in a broad range of responsibilities across junior finance
• Month end close and reporting inc. journal entries, payroll, revenue and prepayments
• AP invoice processing and payment runs
• Managing vendor queries and resolving discrepencies
• Maintennance of the fixed assets register
• Analysis and reconciliation of bank statements and general ledgers
• Process expenses along with a range of ad-hoc tasks and projects
• Further room to take on AR/Credit Control, VAT and financial controls responsibilities as the role develops
