The Institute of Education, Social and Life Sciences provides high quality initial teacher education and professional development and we currently have a vacancy for a part-time Head of Secondary Initial Teacher Education to join our successful team. This post will begin in January 2022 or sooner if possible.

As a key member of the Education department leadership team, you will lead our secondary phase programmes and line manage the programme co-ordinators for our Secondary PGCE, School Direct and undergraduate Mathematics and Teaching degree. You will also work closely alongside colleagues in our Institute of Sport to ensure the continued high quality of our undergraduate Secondary PE programme.

You must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have a successful track record of leading a secondary initial teacher education programme and of managing colleagues. You will have extensive experience of working with external partners and stakeholders and up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory frameworks for teacher education.
